Mazes preview new LP with ‘Salford’ track
London group keep it punctual with a thrill-a-second taste of new album ‘Wooden Aquarium’.
Champions of propulsive, rhythm-obsessed rock ’n roll, Mazes have unveiled a new track from their forthcoming ‘Wooden Aquarium’ LP.
‘Salford’ is devoted to its namesake, BBC-housing Manchester outskirt. It loads itself up on bold declaratives (“I am a punctual greeting” / “I am cool”) and runs to the hills with jagged, cut-throat guitars.
Spanning just over the two minute mark, it’s a stampeding taster of what’s to come, and it’s getting its first play on DIY below.
The new album was recorded in New York, with Parquet Courts producer Jonathan Schenke at the desk.
‘Wooden Aquarium’ is out 8th September on FatCat Records. Pre-order here.
