Premiere: Night Flowers sound the alarm with ‘Sleep’ video

Night Flowers sound the alarm with ‘Sleep’ video

London-via-Humberside newcomers are bringing out an essential 7” via Dirty Bingo.

Don’t be fooled. Night Flowers aren’t a classic ‘80s band glimpsing back on their past. They’re an exciting five-piece from London-via-Humberside who happen to be getting nostalgic for the new ‘Sleep’ video, premiering on DIY.

Not everything about Night Flowers harks back to the past. With vocalist Sophia Pettit leading the way, they give a vital, present day jolt of electrics to escapist pop. Nods to ‘80s and ‘90s heavyweights remain, but they’re more in line with the likes of Kid Wave and Cheatahs, finding something new in former triumphs. Their new video could be lifted from the pre-MTV era, which only adds to the charm.

‘Sleep’ links up with ‘Sitting Pretty’ for a new 7” release on Dirty Bingo, out 25th September. Pre-order here.
