Cate Le Bon has shared the video for ‘Wonderful’ - the first single taken from her forthcoming album ‘Crab Day’. Due out on 15th April via Turnstile, this is the first full track from the follow-up to 2013’s ‘Mug Museum’.
The video was shot in Berlin by regular Cate Le Bon collaborator Casey Raymond, and features lots of silly, energetic dancing. “I threw up my lunch,” said Cate Le Bon, in a press release. Lovely stuff.
The awkwardness of the ‘Wonderful’ video is fully intentional. Cate Le Bon’s dance moves vary wildly between ‘landing an invisible plane’ to ‘absolutely desperate for a wee,’ and save for a few bemused passers by, she’s the only focus. “Wonderful’ is an awkward love song accompanied by an equally awkward video,” she explained.
Cate Le Bon will tour ‘Crab Day’ with what she’s calling the Banana ensemble - a live band made up of co-producer Josiah Steinbrick, Josh Klinghoffer, Stephen Black, Stella Mozgawa and H.Hawkline. There will be costume changes, and half-time orange segments.
