After months of speculation, Ian Brown’s confirmed that the band are working on new material.

It’s official - The Stone Roses are working on new material.

Speaking to NME outside London’s Church Street Studios, where the band have been not-so-secretly holed up all week long, Ian Brown confirmed the existence of new stuff from the group. “We’re recording music,” he said, and apparently it’s going “like a dream”, sounds “glorious” and coming “soon”. Succinct as ever, Ian.

The band returned at the end of last year, with a number of UK and US shows confirmed for this summer. New material’s been rumoured ever since they first started dropping hints, but this is the first official confirmation. You can catch the reformed group at any of the following this summer:
