Ooh: Foo Fighters are working on their new album this year!

Foo Fighters are working on their new album this year!

Looks like that hiatus was a bit short-lived…

We could have probably guessed Foo Fighters were up to something when they were announced as headliners for this year’s Roskilde, Open’er and NOS Alive festivals, but it seems that “hiatus” of theirs is well and truly over, as they’re planning to work on their new LP this year.

The news was unveiled by Dave Graham, CEO of Latitude 38, the company that run BottleRock Napa Valley Festival, which the Foos are headlining in May. He was speaking to David Kerns of the Napa Valley Register about how he managed to secure the band for the festival when he revealed their plans for 2017.

Graham said: “The Foo Fighters are in the studio all next year recording a new album and BottleRock may be their only show in 2017 in North America.” Kerns then confirmed to Consequence of Sound that “next year” meant 2017.

So looks like we can expect new material from the Foos sooner rather than later. Huzzah! In the meantime, watch the video for ‘Something From Nothing’ from their last album ‘Sonic Highways’ below.
