Singer-songwriter Julia Jacklin was back in her native Australia last week, and popped into radio station Triple J for a session.
Like everyone who appears, she had to take part in their ‘Like A Version’ segment and Julia decided to take on The Strokes’ 2001 classic ‘Someday’. Instead of trying to emulate its scuzzy, endearingly ramshackle nature, Julia gave it the same Americana-tinged feel as the tracks on her debut album ‘Don’t Let The Kids Win’. The result was a laid-back, slow-burning version of the song that really brought out some of its more melancholic undertones.
Watch Julia cover ‘Someday’ below and read our interview with her from last year here.
