“Yo, XCX, heard you got a fine-ass mixtape!” “Yeah, Biebs, it’s dropping at the end of Feb!” That’s all the confirmation we need.
Yep, Charli XCX is dropping a new mixtape next month, and she took to Instagram to announce it alongside Justin Bieber (kind of). It’s been primarily produced by A.G. Cook and in an interview with Dallas radio station Hot 93.3 she said it’s more like her work with SOPHIE. The whole thing was written in two weeks, but will also be a “lot more sad”. Apparently “this is more like crying into the champagne than drinking it”. Epic description, Charli.
The mixtape has apparently also been made without the knowledge of her label, who she felt “very frustrated and annoyed” by, prompting her to say “fuck it” and make the music she just wants to make. That’s one hell of a ‘Sucker’ punch. Sorry.

“This is the best video ever,” says Charli.
Next-level Charli happens, it seems, to be largely a continuation of the same Charli.
It’s the latest teaser of Charli’s star-studded self-titled new album.
A dark, electro-pop bop about getting rid of shitty people in your life. We have to stan.
