After revealing plans for a couple of dates in the UK and Ireland, including a gig at this year’s 6 Music Festival in Glasgow, shoegaze icons Ride have announced a short North American tour.
Ahead of the release of their first new album in 20 years, which has been produced by Erol Alkan, they’ll be heading to American shores in July. There, they’ll play at Toronto’s Massey Hall, Boston’s Royale, New York’s Terminal 5, Philadelphia’s TLA and Sixth & I in Washington.
The band have also shared a new playlist on Spotify of all their influences. It includes the likes of Cocteau Twins, REM, The Beach Boys and The Stooges, but also Boards of Canada, Bob Marley and the Wailers, Public Enemy and even legendary spaghetti western composer Ennio Morricone. They’ve certainly got a wide musical palette.
