Neu Pick: Tony Njoku digs deep on ‘In All Its Glory’

Tony Njoku digs deep on ‘In All Its Glory’

The South London-based singer and producer provides today’s Neu Pick.

Every weekday, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu brings you one essential new release to get obsessed with. Today’s Neu Pick comes from Tony Njoku.

On his self-released debut album ‘In Greyscale’ from last year, London-based producer and songwriter Tony Njoku flirted with psych and jazz to take his electronic productions on winding journeys.

Fresh from funding his upcoming debut headline tour via Pledge Music’s emerging artists fund, he’s shared the album’s follow-up, new single ‘In All Its Glory’. The new cut is a world of swirling synths that float on top of Njoku’s buried but distinctive vocals.

Speaking of the track, the Deptford-based musician says: “Musically, it’s an attempt to move forward, to add something else to our cultural conversation. Personally it’s a reaction to all the fucking noise from inner disputes and outside pressures filling my head. An amalgamation of the definite and more abstract emotions and ideas I was dealing with at the time; an excavation and unearthing of my inner character.”

The singer’s tour begins next week in Manchester, and finishes with a London headline show at the Montague Arms on 18th April.
