Sun Drift lets in ‘Daylight’ on new single

The Telharmonium signing is today’s Neu Pick.

Every weekday, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu brings you one essential new release to get obsessed with. Today’s Neu Pick comes from Sun Drift.

Sun Drift is the project of Lancashire-based Zac Barfoot, just out of his teens. We last saw the Telharmonium-signed singer on his sun-kissed 2016 single ‘Funny How’.

New track ‘Daylight’, from an upcoming EP called ‘Outside’, is as breezy and bright as Barfoot has grabbed our attention for. There’s hints of Gengahr in his vocal delivery, and the track’s as laid back and carefree as the very best slacker pop.

Talking of the new EP, Barfoot says: “‘Outside’ is an EP, that I hope is a continuation from my previous material. I was really aiming to create an atmosphere with most of the song writing that could, in a way, take listens to a different space or time in their heads. This seems to be the effect that my favourite music has on me”.

‘Outside’ is released via Telharmonium on 12th May. Listen to ‘Daylight’ below.
