Blaenavon are set to play a gig in, yep, Blaenavon

They’re off to the Welsh town’s Workmen’s Hall in May.

Just a few days after christening their debut album at London’s Heaven, Blaenavon have announced the gig they were born to play: in Blaenavon of course!

The band are set to bring their excellent debut ‘That’s Your Lot’ to the Welsh town, playing a special, one-off show in the Workmen’s Hall, which opened in 1895 and is now a community centre that hosts gigs, cinema events, snooker and table tennis, on Wednesday 10th May.

Singer and guitarist Ben Gregory opened up about the band’s relationship with the town: “We owe a lot to the people of Blaenavon. We’ve blatantly ripped them off but they’ve still always supported us. We’ve been talking about a show there for years and now seems like the perfect time. Pretty bonkers that the Male Voice Choir are up for it, too. It’s going to be the perfect ridiculous celebration of everyone’s hard work over the last 5 years. A battle to the death. Blaenavon vs Blaenavon.” Placing all bets!

Early bird tickets are available for 48 hours on the band’s store. Listen to their recent single ‘Lonely Side’ below and read our recent interview with the band here.
