Festivals: Lorde will play her first UK gig in over two years at Radio 1’s Big Weekend

Lorde will play her first UK gig in over two years at Radio 1’s Big Weekend

A bunch of other names have also been announced too, including Biffy Clyro and Bastille!

The full line-up for this year’s Radio 1 Big Weekend has been revealed, and lo and behold, it marks the first we’ve seen of Lorde to the UK for blimmin’ ages!

Her appearance at the event in Hull in May will be her first performance in the country for over two years, and if her set at Coachella is anything to go by then expect a good dash of tunes from ‘Melodrama’ as well as hits from her ace debut album ‘Pure Heroine.’ Bet she’ll bring some ‘Homemade Dynamite’ to the occasion…

She’s not the only addition to the Hull bash either. Kasabian, Biffy Clyro and Bastille have all been added to the line-up, with Royal Blood, Two Door Cinema Club and Rita Ora also heading for the Capital of Culture. Katy Perry, Kings of Leon, Little Mix and Stormzy were among the acts already confirmed to play at Burton Constable Hall. Crikey!

Radio 1’s Big Weekend gets underway in Hull between 27th-28th May. Find out more about the line-up here and watch Lorde’s video for ‘Green Light’ (which, let’s face it, we’ll all be singing along to) below.
