Two years ago, Leeds five-piece Vessels released their sprawling, fantastic third LP ‘Dilate’, an album that saw the band ditch the soaring post-rock guitars for something altogether more intense and club-bound.
We called ‘Dilate’ “one of the smartest and most beguiling electronic albums of the year” at the time, and its follow-up, new single ‘Radiart’, takes the idea and hammers it home.
Squealing synths worm their way over intricate yet pounding percussion, and the track sees Vessels fully settling into their new skin, careering through drop after drop with razor sharp precision. By the time the pummelling noise reaches its peak before folding out into a sloping finale, it’s ear-splitting in the best possible way, and quite the re-introduction.
‘Radiart’ is taken from Vessels’ upcoming fourth album, to be released later this year. The band have also announced their biggest headline show to date at London’s Village Underground on 4th October. They’re also heading to the capital’s Victoria Park for a set at Citadel in July.
‘Radiart’ is coming out via Different Recordings, the electronic imprint of [PIAS]. Listen below.
