Tamu Massif shares the graceful ‘Animals’

The singer’s tour with The Japanese House starts tonight (9th May).

Bristol-based singer Tamu Massif is starting a UK tour supporting The Japanese House tonight (9th May), and is releasing his new, second EP ‘Bala’ on Friday (12th).

We’ve got the first play of the collection’s latest single ‘Animals’, a gorgeously understated cut that closes the EP. Picked acoustic guitar and Massif’s hushed vocals carry the tracks, but it’s the bustling world of buzzing samples that flit around the background that give the track its life and charm.

“I approach writing songs as collages” Dave Dixon explains in a press release. “I usually layer up different sections and then connect them. On Bala sampling my own voice became integral to the songwriting process and I started recording tracks purely to lay down vocals I could manipulate elsewhere.”

‘Bala’ comes out on Friday. Listen to ‘Animals’ and view Massif’s dates alongside The Japanese House below.
