Festivals: The xx are taking Night + Day to Iceland this summer

The xx are taking Night + Day to Iceland this summer

They’re bringing Robyn, Sampha, Warpaint and more to a waterfall two hours west of Reykjavík in July.

With their Brixton residency, The xx brought a huge Night + Day programme to the venue, including bands, films, pop-up shops, radio shows and a whole lot more to the capital.

Although they’ve got a pretty packed festival schedule already planned (including slots at Glastonbury, Open’er, Bestival and Lowlands), they’re now taking Night + Day to Iceland between 14th-16th July. It’ll take place at Skógafoss, a waterfall about two hours from the capital Reykjavík and it’ll feature some big names including Robyn (who performed with the band in Brixton), Warpaint, Floating Points, Sampha, Earl Sweatshirt, Kamasi Washington and, of course, themselves (and Jamie xx solo!)

In a press release, the band spoke about their relationship to Iceland: “We fell in love with Iceland while recording some of I See You there a few years ago. We are so looking forward to returning and bringing some of our friends, from near and far”.

Day + Night Iceland kicks off at Skógafoss between 14th-16th July. Tickets are limited to 6000 and more information can be found here. Have a look at the line-up poster below.
