Premiere: Jay Som shares video for ‘One More Time, Please’

Jay Som shares video for ‘One More Time, Please’

The singer’s playing her first UK shows this week.

Jay Som- aka San Francisco’s Melina Duterte - released her debut album proper, ‘Everybody Works’ earlier this year. Ahead of setting off on a run of UK shows, starting this weekend at Brighton’s The Great Escape, she’s treated us all to a brand new video for album cut ‘One More Time, Please’.

“We wanted to honor the heaviness of Melina’s lyrics by channeling the essence of madness many feel while attempting to live up to societal standards, behaviors or even personal obsessions,” explained the video’s directors Christopher Good and Andreina Byrne.

“This madness can become mentally and physically enslaving. We follow the main character as she attempts to satisfy these standards/obsessions until she realizes her obsession with such is more of an internalized threat. This realization of her own obsessive state guides her to find her own peace of mind and acceptance of herself.”

We’ve got the first play of Jay Som’s new video, premiering on DIY. Watch it below, and scroll down to view all her upcoming tour dates.
