It’s the truth: Liars are releasing a new album in August

Liars are releasing a new album in August

They’ve been hinting at new music through cryptic messages on YouTube and Instagram.

It’s been three, yes a whole three, years since Liars released their last album ‘Mess’. Yep, we can’t quite believe it’s been that long either.

Now though, it looks like their return is imminent. As reported by Stereogum, the band are set to release a new album on Mute this August, and states that after the amicable split of Angus Andrew and Aaron Hemphill, it’s been recorded in Angus’ native home of Australia and will be “unlike any Liars had attempted before”. Exciting!

Liars have been hinting at an upcoming release on YouTube, where they’ve been posting short videos of varying length containing natural imagery and various clips of music, that range from slightly spacy to glitchy and even touching slightly on techno. The letters of each video also spell out the word “theme”. Hmm. Something’s definitely on the way though, as Liars also posteas8IWRV7Jfwd a photo of a test pressing on Instagram.

Have a look at the videos and check out Liars’ Instagram post below.
