After collaborating with Drake on ‘More Life’ and going full Gatsby in the video for ‘Beautiful Little Fools’, her first new solo material since her debut ‘Project 11’ EP earlier in the year, Walsall-born singer-songwriter Jorja Smith is back with a brand new track.
‘Teenage Fantasy’ has been produced by Charlie J Perry and was apparently written when Jorja was 16. With a jazz vibe, the lyrics see her pondering a romantic decision: “I was told by my mother, if I look into the future, do I really see this boy, that I think I’ve fallen for?” Listen hard enough and you’ll probably hear some humming too: that’s 16-year-old Jorja being recorded as she was babysitting!
Jorja will be playing a headline show at London’s Electric Brixton on 20th July. Tickets are on sale now. She’s also set to play Latitude in July.
