Primal fear: Baio gets dark on ‘DANGEROUE ANAMAL’

Baio gets dark on ‘DANGEROUE ANAMAL’

It’s the latest cut from the Vampire Weekend man’s upcoming solo album ‘Man of the World’.

Two years on from his first solo record ‘The Names’, Baio is set to release his brand new album ‘Man of the World’ on 30th June via Glassnote.

Speaking of the album when it was announced, Chris said: “It’s partially about being trapped in my own head, obsessing about things it was too late to change, feeling afraid and guilty and alone. It’s also my attempt to document a certain sense of loss that felt both intensely personal and like part of a larger collective experience many were going through at once.”

With the album’s lead track ‘PHILOSOPHY!’ he took a bit of a light, funked-up approach to those themes, but on his latest track ‘DANGEROUE ANAMAL’ (or “dangerous animal” as Chris says in the song itself), he’s gone seriously dark. It’s a cut that builds itself on constantly whirring synths and a shuddering beat, with Chris singing that “the waste of the world is palpable”.
