Ever the hard worker, Father John Misty has revealed that he’s already working on his next album, and that it’s being mixed next week.
Speaking between songs at a show at the Metro Theatre in Sydney, Australia, the singer said that things are well underway on the follow-up to this year’s brilliant ‘Pure Comedy’ LP.
We’ll take the information with a pinch of salt - especially the bit where he says the album will be called ‘Pure Comedy 2’ - but knowing how productive our Papa John is, a new album in 2018 doesn’t seem all that unlikely, and is a pretty damn exciting prospect!
We spoke to Josh Tillman for the April issue of DIY, around the release of ‘Pure Comedy’, about the pressures of fame and becoming a person he doesn’t really recognise anymore.
“If I’m going to continue to make the music I want to make and to challenge myself, then it’s not gonna get bigger from here,” he says. “I have to be OK with that. This album is clearly not a bid for mainstream success.” Read the feature in full here, and watch Tillman give an update on LP4 below.
