Peckham native Cosmo Pyke has already set himself out as someone who can distill all the goodness of summer into a tune.
Earlier in the year he gave us ‘Chronic Sunshine’, which did exactly what it said on the tin with a very tasty melting pot of jazz, hip hop, R&B and blues. Now he’s back with ‘Great Dane’, which similarly squeezes out some juicy goodness from his own lilting vocals, laid-back chords and dusty percussion wrapped together into a neo-soul package.
As if that wasn’t enough Vitamin D from Cosmo, the video from director Joshua Osborne is sweetly nostalgic, looking back at a summer spent with a loved one. Filmed around both Aldeburgh and Thorpeness in Suffolk, it also contains some dreamily beautiful scenery of the countryside.
As well as sharing the new track and video, Cosmo’s also announced that he’ll be playing a rare headline show at London’s Garage on 5th December. Tickets go on sale from 10am on Thursday 14th September.
