Kendrick Lamar and YG Hootie share new track ‘The City’

The Compton rappers have teamed up once again.

Back in 2013, Kendrick Lamar and YG Hootie teamed up on ‘Two Presidents’, which evoked Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X. Now they’re back with another collaboration.

‘The City’ is a tribute to the rappers’ hometown of Compton, and has been produced by DJ FU (of Mike WiLL’s EarDrummers). If you’re wondering who’s on the cover of the single, it’s actually a young George W. Bush, who once lived in Compton. As reported by Complex, Hootie said: “Compton gets a lot of bad press which shapes the perception of our city, but most never know George Bush and his family once resided here.”

After announcing his monster ‘DAMN.’ tour last week (which will see none other than James Blake supporting), Kendrick recently revealed that he’d also be playing a show at London’s Wembley Arena! Tickets for the Wembley date will go on sale from 9am on Friday 13th October.

Listen to ‘The City’ and see all of Kendrick’s upcoming European tour dates below.
