Porches announces new album ‘The House’

Aaron Maine has also shared a video for ‘Find Me’.

A couple of weeks back, Aaron Maine – better known as Porches – returned with ‘Country’, a brand new track featuring vocals from Dev Hynes.

The track was the first to be taken from Aaron’s upcoming new album, which as he points out was also “the last song I wrote for my new album”. Now, he’s announced that new album ‘The House’ will be out on 19th January via Domino. It features other contributions from (Sandy) Alex G, Okay Kaya, and more, and was recorded across 18 months following the release of ‘Pool’.

Speaking of the album, Aaron said: “The House is a diary. The House began immediately with a sense of urgency. A different kind of urgency than I had experienced previously when writing songs. I wasn’t sure exactly what this meant while it was happening, but it felt necessary to embrace it.

“The songwriting became an exercise in documenting my immediate experiences, which writing has always been for me to a certain extent, but something particular was compelling me to try to portray these moments in a more linear way. Writing this record was a form of meditation, an escape, a routine - selfish at times, as it became an excuse to avoid my immediate surroundings”.

Aaron has also shared a new video for ‘Find Me’, which was co-directed between himself and Nick Harwood. The track itself focuses on themes of anxiety, escape and isolation.
