After vocalist Rhys Griffiths released Ski Saigon’s debut EP as a solo endeavour crafted in his bedroom, the London dream-pop project is back - this time with a full line-up of band members - and sounding all the more expansive for it.
Their return is marked by ‘Iran Tourist Dream’; a song about - to borrow Rhys’ words - wanting to “travel back… to visit the Levant, Persia and the Arabian Gulf in the years before the First World War. ‘Iran Tourist Dream’ is vaguely about this, whilst also being my attempt at writing a fairly straightforward three minute pop song.”
It’s set for release on 3rd November, as part of a forthcoming compilation called ‘Babyquake’ from London cassette label Havana Tapes. It also features tracks from Dream Wife, Porridge Radio, Unpaid Intern, Personal Best, and more. Pre-order the tape here.
