Grizzly Bear recently popped into Spotify studios to record a couple of tracks for their singles series.
For the single, they tackled two tracks. The first was a version of their single ‘Mourning Sound’ from recent album ‘Painted Ruins’, while the second was a languid, warming cover of folk singer-songwriter Diane Cluck’s 2003 track ‘Easy To Be Around’.
On Twitter, the band replied to Cluck saying that “we’ve all been fans since before we were ever a band”. Aww. And is the track easy to be around too? You bet your bottom dollar it is.
Grizzly Bear also recently appeared on Jools Holland, and they released a video for ‘Losing All Sense’ starring Dawson’s Creek’s Busy Philipps and Aunt Freckle. A little before the release of ‘Painted Ruins’, we caught up with Grizzly Bear to talk to them about the story behind the new album. Catch up with the chat here.
