She took on ‘Modern Girl’ from 2005’s ‘The Woods’.

St Vincent. Sleater-Kinney. Is there a more perfect match?

It’s a very good pairing indeed, as proven by Annie Clark teaming with Carrie Brownstein for a spoof interview last year. Now, St Vinny’s shared a video on Instagram of her covering the band’s ‘Modern Girl’ from their 2005 album ‘The Woods’. She said in the caption: “Pre-show Sleater-Kinney warm up. Such a great song!” She’s not wrong, and she does it great justice.

St Vincent recently appeared on NPR’s ‘Tiny Desk Concert’ to play three tracks from ‘MASSEDUCTION’. Last Friday, the singer also shared a new remix of ‘New York’, courtesy of Welsh producer Kelly Lee Owens. Last year we talked to St Vincent all about her latest album, which you can catch up on here.

Meanwhile, Carrie Brownstein recently revealed that Sleater-Kinney were “very slowly” working on their follow-up to ‘No Cities To Love’.
