Looks like Chvrches are teasing something…

The band have posted a cryptic new video to Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, and it depicts Lauren Mayberry using some lipstick to draw a heart with an X through it on a mirror with some huge synth melodies developing as its soundtrack, alongside the caption “GET IN”. As reported by Pitchfork, the band have also deleted all of their past tweets and Instagram posts. So, is this the first sign of a new track on the horizon, then?

Last year the band spilled some of the beans on their new album in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, saying that it was “weirder” and “more aggressive”, and that it has ben produced by Greg Kurstin. Speaking at the time, Lauren said: “When I listen to the record, I feel like it’s the most pop stuff we’ve done and also the most aggressive and vulnerable at the same time. It was about really leaning into those moments - and also wanting there to be a real humanity and character to what we’re saying”.

Chvrches are set to play a number of festivals this year, including NOS Alive, TRNSMT, Primavera and Governors Ball.
