Local Natives share a demo version of ‘Colombia’

They’ve also shared a series of behind the scenes clips of the making of ‘Hummingbird’.

It’s been five years since Local Natives released their second record ‘Hummingbird’.

To mark the occasion, the band have shared a demo version of ‘Colombia’, one of the album’s highlights and most emotionally-searing moments. The eight-minute version of the track is unsurprisingly a bit rougher around the edges than what eventually made its way on to the record, but still features some of the sparkling melodies that helped to eventually form the dedication to Kelcey Ayer’s late mother.

In addition to the demo, the band have also shared a series of short videos from Nate Chan that document the making of ‘Hummingbird’. The quintet of clips gives a glimpse into the process behind the record.

This year, Local Natives are also set to set sail for Paramore’s Parahoy! 2018 alongside HalfNoise, Mewithoutyou and more this April.
