Listen: Girlpool team up with Blood Orange for ‘Picturesong’

Girlpool team up with Blood Orange for ‘Picturesong’

They released their lastest album ‘Powerplant’ last year.

After releasing their latest album ‘Powerplant’ last year (and teaming up with Portland rapper Aminé too), Girlpool are back with a new track – and it’s a collaboration with Blood Orange!

‘Picturesong’ sees Dev Hynes contributing backing vocals, keyboards and guitars, as well as helping to mix the track. All three of their voices combine in some simply divine ways in a meditative haze, with some nagging guitar lines in the mix.

As reported by Pitchfork, Girlpool explained in a statement: “Picturesong is a word invented to explore what we create in each other when we want to feel deep love because of loneliness or otherwise, and brings into question the reality and delusion of the things we feel”.

Dev added: “I’m such a fan of Girlpool, and loved working with them. Their harmonies are some of my favourites that are out there”.

Last year we caught up with Girlpool to talk about ‘Powerplant’. Catch up with the full interview here.
