Jenny Hval’s new project Lost Girls announces ‘Feeling’ EP

It’s a collaboration with Norwegian multi-instrumentalist Håvard Volden.

After releasing a collaborative album together called ‘Nude on Sand’ back in 2012, Jenny Hval and Norwegian mutli-instrumentalist Håvard Volden have teamed up for a new project called Lost Girls.

They’re set to release a two-track EP called ‘Feeling’ on 2nd March through Smalltown Supersound. The two tracks – ‘Drive’ and ‘Accept’ – are the result of ongoing work that’s taken place over the past three years. ‘Drive’ is the final, recorded version of an extended composition that’s been a staple of Jenny’s own tours. She said of the track: “It kept changing because we were improvising a lot together”.

Speaking of the lyrics to ‘Drive’, she continued: “I was using works to make sense of time and music—lyrics as a compositional tool—which I found really interesting, this interplay between words as meaning and words as something that could build musical structures”.

The pair have also shared a new trailer for the project, where they talk about their process. You can watch the trailer below.
