A couple of weeks back, Night Flowers shared a video for ‘Losing The Light’, and now they’ve announced their debut album!
‘Wild Notion’ is set to come out on 13th April through Dirty Bingo Records. The album originally took shape while the band were touring in the UK, Germany, Spain and Japan and was honed in various London basements and bedsits. It was recorded over two weeks with long-time collaborator Adam Jaffrey at his Unwound studio in Hackney.
Vocalist and guitarist Greg Ullyart explains: “A lot of the album deals with time, place and memory. The memory often plays tricks and blurs the lines between present, past and future tense, and sometimes when you’re writing, it’s only with hindsight you can see what you were writing about. The songs put a few demons to bed”.
As well as announcing the record, the band have also shared a new video for ‘Cruel Wind’. Made by filmmaking duo James Doherty and Laura Whittell, it sees vocalist Sophia Pettit on hand to spiritually guide astronauts through their arduous training regimes, blending together archive footage, green screen and a few intriguing visual effects in the process.
