Father John Misty shares new track ‘Mr. Tillman’

Papa John released his last album ‘Pure Comedy’ last year.

Father John Misty’s back with a new track!

Last week, FJM was captured playing a new song in Tokyo, which had occasionally been referred to as ‘Mr. Tillman, Please Exit The Lobby’. Now there’s an official studio version of the track! Simply titled ‘Mr. Tillman’, it sees Papa John zooming out and putting the lens on himself, depicting what might be a bit of a hallucinatory episode.

Father John’s been giving a few updates on the follow-up to last year’s ‘Pure Comedy’ in recent months, saying that it was “pretty much done” and saying that “most of this next album was written in a six-week period where I was kind of on the straits. I was living in a hotel for two months. It’s kind of about… yeah… misadventure”.

With ‘Mr. Tillman’ now out in the world, it looks like that follow-up might not be too far away. In the mean time, catch up with our interview with Papa John from last year here.

Listen to ‘Mr. Tillman’ below.
