Bad News Club shares new track ‘Absent’

It comes ahead of a show at London’s Servant Jazz Quarters tomorrow.

After helping to close DIY’s Hello 2018 shows at The Old Blue Last, Bad News Club released debut single ‘The Painter’ earlier this month.

And good news! Now Bad News Club is back with another new track released on Transgressive imprint paradYse Records. It’s as similarly sparse and intimate as his previous track, mixing in ethereal elements that create a haunting atmosphere.

Speaking of the track, Bad News Club said: “Absent was written after a trip away from home, as an ode to the items I had left behind. Where ‘The Painter’ was recorded in one-take on my iPhone to capture what I was feeling at that exact time, this song was more complex in both its recording process and the emotions involved. I played and recorded everything over a couple of weeks, and finally everything started to make sense”.

Bad News Club is also set to play a headline show at London’s Servant Jazz Quarters on 28th February – yep, that’s tomorrow! Tickets are on sale now.

Listen to ‘Absent’ below.
