Kelela channels ‘The Sims’ in the video for ‘Frontline’

Her debut album ‘Take Me Apart’ came out last year.

Kelela released her debut album ‘Take Me Apart’ back in October, but now she’s back with a new video for ‘Frontline’

The clip takes the listener into a virtual-reality world and yep, it really does look like ‘The Sims’! Okay, so there’s no glowing green diamond above Kelela’s head and there’s no accidental fires due to a lack of cooking skills, but it does tell a narrative of leaving the past behind in dramatic, computer-generated fashion.

Speaking of the clip, Kelela told Rolling Stone: “I love speaking to my fans through music videos and I always find it more fun to reference things that we can all relate to that may not be in the forefront. With this sims-like video, I was able to tell my story in a light-hearted but dramatic way. It’s about leaving your ex with the wind in your hair while acknowledging a curiously complex feeling of pain that he has left you for a white woman”.
