Mastersystem share a new video for ‘Notes On A Life Not Quite Lived’

The debut album from the new project of members of Frightened Rabbit, Editors and Minor Victories is out in April.

How’s this for a supergroup? Scott and Grant Hutchinson from Frightened Rabbit, Justin Lockey of Editors and James Lockey from Minor Victories have all teamed up to form a new band, Mastersystem.

They’re set to release their debut album ‘Dance Music’ on 6th April through Physical Education. Speaking on the record, Scott said in a statement: “I thought it would be interesting to play around with the themes of restlessness and dissatisfaction on this album, both as a counterpoint to the exuberance of the music and as an obvious reference to the angst and tension I heard in the grunge and fuzz of my teenage years”.

He continued: “This is not the angst of a teenager, however. This is the anxiety of a man in his mid-30s, and for a lot of this record I found myself wrestling with the ways in which I am not quite doing life right, in spite of appearing to lead a relatively joyful, playful and artistic existence”.

The band have now just shared a video for new single ‘Notes On A Life Not Quite Lived’. They’re also set to head out on a UK tour in April and May, which will see them head to Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow, Leeds, Birmingham and London. Tickets are on sale now.
