In the second half of today’s Non-Strokes Songs Released By Members Of The Strokes news (the first being a newie from The Voidz), guitarist Albert Hammond Jr has served up the latest track from forthcoming solo album ‘Francis Trouble’ - due next Friday (March 9th) via Red Bull Records.
A sentimental, sweetened thing with some classic AHJ fretwork, ’Set To Attack’ is the third track to be taken from the record following ‘Muted Beatings’ and ‘Far Away Truths’.
Albert is also featured in this month’s issue of DIY, talking about the unusual story behind the record - an album inspired by his stillborn twin. “I was hoping that when people saw it they wouldn’t think of The Strokes or my past solo records, they would just see it as a new thing,” he says of ‘Francis Trouble’. ”I didn’t wanna become a band name – I’m already in one that seems like it’s defined something, so I needed to throw the weight on me and funnily enough I became more me by not being me.”
