Sorcha Richardson makes another strong impression on the delicate ‘Can’t We Pretend’

The Brooklyn-via-Dublin singer’s new single is today’s Neu Pick.

Every weekday, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu brings you one essential new release to get obsessed with. Today’s Neu Pick comes from Sorcha Richardson.

Brooklyn-via-Dublin songwriter Sorcha Richardson has made quite an impression on us over the past 18 months.

From the crunchy, reflective ‘Ruin Your Night’ to the pondering of lost days on its follow-up ‘Waking Life’, she’s proved herself a multi-faceted new talent.

The promise is continued on new single ‘Can’t We Pretend’, a track about the physical and emotional distance felt from her native Dublin to her new residence in New York, and it’s a track drenched in reflection, transmitted via gorgeous, twinkling piano and Richardson’s ever-impressive voice.

The singer is working on her upcoming debut album.
