Update: Grimes gives new music update

Grimes gives new music update

Claire Boucher is ready to “consistently release more music”.

Grimes teamed up with Janelle Monáe again this week, on ‘Pynk’ from the latter’s new album ‘Dirty Computer’.

Now, as is so often the way with Claire Boucher, she’s revealed more information about new solo music via replying to fans on social media.

“Can finish [the album] fast and I have a deep well of shit this time,” she said on Instagram. ”like sooooo many songs so after my album I’ll be able to consistently release more music.”

The new update comes after a whirlwind of back and forth regarding the ‘Art Angels’ follow-up. At the start of February, Grimes revealed that her new album would be out this year. It was a statement quickly taken back, though, with Claire Boucher saying there would be “no music any time soon”, blaming the “trash” music industry.

She then wrote that she was planning her “final album for my shit label”, with another also in the works.

She now seems to have patched things up with label 4AD though, and it looks like new music might be on the way! Who knows!
