Evan Jones puts emotion to the forefront on the glitchy ‘Laughter’

The Tottenham-based singer’s debut single feels like a eureka moment.

Tottenham-based artist Evan Jones says his music concerns “the torment and occasional triumph of growing up.” New track ‘Laughter’ - playing first on DIY today - concentrates on the latter.

Set over glitchy, ever-changing production, the singer booms line after line about craving laughter, and feeling it change him as a person. The idea of a eureka moment in the song feels completely natural, too - the track was written as he recovered from a heart operation.

“Laughter was a moment,” Evan says of the new track. ”A moment where shared mistakes and shared fear turned into something wonderful… and in that moment I laughed on the inside too.”

‘Laughter’ is coming out tomorrow (14th September) via Talking Shop Records - listen to it below.
