Romance isn’t dead as Elizabeth Sankey and Jeremy Warmsley retrun as Summer Camp

British indie-pop duo Summer Camp have returned with their first new material since 2015’s ‘Bad Love’. Summer Camp is made up of Elizabeth Sankey and Jeremy Warmsley and ‘Love of my Life’ and ‘Danny and John’ are taken from their forthcoming album ‘Romantic Comedy’.

The album is a companion piece to Sankey’s feature documentary film debut of the same name and is the bands second soundtrack since 2014’s ‘Beyond Clueless’. Romantic Comedy has received rave reviews since being premiered at prestigious film festivals IFFR in Rotterdam and SXSW in Austin. It is Sankey’s personal exploration of this much maligned genre told through over 160 films including When Harry Met Sally, God’s Own Country and His Girl Friday along with interviews with actors, filmmakers and writers including End of the F*cking World’s star Jessica Barden.

‘Love of my Life’ is the first song taken from the album and has a 60’s pop vibe to it and is about the one that got away. ‘Danny and John’ doesn’t feature on the album, and is the story of two men who can’t quit each other. Both songs are inspired by Sankey’s films and the experiences that motivated her to make Romantic Comedy.

Summer Camp will perform the score to Romantic Comedy live at Sheffield International Documentary Festival at the Crucible Theatre on 7th June 2019. This will be their first live performance since 2015.

Romantic Comedy will be distributed internationally in 2019 and will have its UK premiere this summer.
