Listen: The Hold Steady announce details of new album ‘Thrashing Thru The Passion’, plus new single ‘Denver Haircut’

The album takes in five brand new tracks, plus five released throughout the last two years
The Hold Steady have announced details of their brand new studio LP, to be titled ‘Thrashing Thru The Passion’ and released on August 16 through Frenchkiss Records.
The record includes the five tracks the band have released digitally between November 2017 and March this year.
Among the songs is new track ‘Denver Haircut’, which you can take a listen to below.
“’Denver Haircut’ is a story about a guy who has chance meet up that takes him to a few different locations before leaving him alone and cashless in a strange hotel room,” says the band’s lead singer Craig Finn.
“Steve Selvidge (guitarist) brought in the music to this song and everyone felt it immediately, it was really fun to play. The story unfolded quickly too. When recording, we remarked that it sounded like it could kick off an album…and so here we are.”
Finn also appears on the recently announced ‘Tiny Changes’ album, a covers LP of songs from Frightened Rabbit’s ‘The Midnight Organ Fight.’ He’ll be taking on the band’s song ‘Heads Roll Off’.
