With ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost - Part 2’ about to come out very, very soon, Foals have shared the latest cut with ‘The Runner’. With a mesmerising hook and captivating call-and-answer vocal aspect, the new track is set in “the aftermath of the landscape described in the final songs of ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 1’ – a world that reflects our current predicament whether emotional, political or environmental.”
In Yannis’ own words, the new self-produced song is “a call to find a sense of purpose and perseverance despite the odds and despite the troubles we may find inside or outside ourselves.”
It’s our second taste to come from ‘Part 2’ - the follow-up to the 2019 Hyundai Mercury Prize shortlist ‘Part 1’ - after last month’s raging ‘Black Bull’, and further proof that the forthcoming record is gonna (for lack of better words) fucking slap.
