The 1975 give ‘Frail State of Mind’ its live debut

The group showcased their newest track at their show in Camden, New Jersey.

Currently at the start of their North American tour, The 1975 gave the lucky lot at BB&T Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey, the first ever live taste of latest track ‘Frail State of Mind’.

Taken from their highly-anticipated upcoming fourth album ‘Notes on a Conditional Form’, the glitchy song got its live debut and videos show that it slaps just as hard live as it does on record.

Included as one of our must-hear tracks in our November 2019 issue (because, duh), we described it as “a soaring electronic number, almost reminiscent in its melodic glitchy production to the latter parts of ‘How To Draw/Petrichor’ or ‘I Like America & America Likes Me’ from last year’s critically and commercially acclaimed third LP ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’.

Detailing feelings of social anxiety, there’s elements of ‘TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME’-esque pop hooks ringing throughout, delicately transformed with an ambient house-y twist. Also could Matty’s little repeat of ‘ring’ after ‘I watched it ring’ become this year’s ‘selling petrol’?

An example of how The 1975 don’t need to come out screaming to instantly hook you in (as much as we love it when they do), ‘Frail State of Mind’ is a sure indication that Matty and the lads aren’t done surprising us yet.”

Watch its live debut below. “Ring” being the new “selling petrol” still TBD, though.
