DIY Weekly - our tablet and smartphone edition - is chock-full model looks and talented musicians, plus the odd picture of Dido. It’s out now, in your app stores. But in case you’re new to the format and you’re in need of a little guide to how the latest edition shapes up, here’s a rundown:
First on the agenda is DIY’s Reading & Leeds review. It involves a timeline of how we broke the ‘Dido playing Reading’ aka #Didowatch story. Things progressed pretty quickly. Rumours spiralled out of control. Some of the staff got their own Dido henna tattoos. We’ve a detailed guide to a historic event. Plus, there’s a flick through all the best performances from over the weekend, equipped with pretty photos such as the one of Chilli from Palma Violets up above.
In news, a terrifying event named ‘TOURMAGEDDON’ is detailed. It involves at least 20 massive tours being announced in the space of a couple of days. Music fans across the country were left penniless but satisfied, knowing they’d a diary full of band dates for the coming months. All that, plus word on Chvrches’ intimate London show and why Trent Reznor had a bit of a bad week, considering.
Plenty of bands are gearing up to fill a ridiculously busy September schedule of album releases. Top of the list is coverstars London Grammar, whose debut represents one of the defining sounds of 2013. Summer Camp spring up on the scene too - we have a chat with music’s most adored married couple. Plus, September gets a new summer spin from Londoners Splashh.
All this, in the new DIY Weekly, available now on iTunes Newsstand.
Don’t forget: The price of DIY Weekly issues has been dropped to £1.49. Weeklies over a month old are available for 69p each.
