Alex Clare Makes New Album A Priority For 2013

A few songs are written for the ‘Too Close’ singer, but need to be produced.

Alex Clare has spoken about his new material to come in 2013.

The London singer / songwriter will be touring next year with international performances including SXSW and Coachella, but has said it won’t restrict his ability to record and release new music.

Speaking to Rolling Stone at KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Xmas, Clare said: ‘Making a new record is the priority, that has to be the priority. I’ve got a few songs written, but they’re a long way off being produced. I need to get back in the studio. Doing so much of the touring and promo, but we’ll get there.’

He continued to explain that he hopes to debut some new songs at SXSW in March 2013, adding that he wants “to start getting songs out before an album is completed.”

The full-length will follow on from his 2011 debut, ‘The Lateness Of The Hour’.
