Joseph Gordon-Levitt hosted his hitRECord event in London for the first time tonight (2nd July), and was joined by a very special guest.
His Dark Knight Rises co-star Anne Hathaway was sitting two rows in front of DIY at the BFI Southbank, and got up on stage to read the sold-out crowd a short story.
As Hathaway was called on stage, the pair reminisced about their first film together, 2005’s Havoc. Hathaway teased Gordon-Levitt as she laughed about her flawless recital of Shakespeare’s Mark Antony speech, saying she was flirting with him, and Shakespeare was ‘her game’.
Her skills were put to good use as she read out Shadow Caste - A Prologue by Flock of Words, before Gordon-Levitt swept her off her feet.
Earlier, Inception star Gordon-Levitt brought Oscar-winning cinematographer Willy Pfister up to talk about the incredible corridor scene the actor will now be associated with. However, the bulk of the interactive night was devoted to beautiful short films uploaded to hitRECord.org, and the actor’s piano-led rendition of Oasis’ Don’t Look Back in Anger (with the crowd far too cool to sing along).
