Bloc Party Dispute Hiatus Claims

Kele Okereke states ‘I haven’t said anything of the sort’ in DIY interview.

Bloc Party's Kele Okereke has disputed reports that his band are about to begin a hiatus, following their headlining slot at this weekend’s Latitude Festival.

Speaking to DIY’s El Hunt in an interview that leads the latest edition of DIY Weekly, when asked for clarification about a potential hiatus (which DIY reported as a 'post-festivals break’), Kele stated: ‘I haven’t said anything of the sort.’

He continued by offering clarification: ‘We’ve been on tour for a year and a half, so when we stop touring, we’re going to decompress for a while and do other things. I think that’s the story. It’s not that exciting.’

Bloc Party headline Latitude Festival on Friday 19th July.

Their ‘NEXTWAVE SESSIONS’ EP is out on 12th August.
