CHVRCHES Announce Short UK Tour Details

The Glaswegian three-piece will hit the road in February and March for a brief four date jaunt.

CHVRCHES are exciting. They must be. We’re cold, cynical husks unable to feel joy, and they have us bouncing off the ceiling. As of this week, they’re officially exciting even, bagging a top five slot in the BBC Sound of 2013 list.

They’ve not been out on the road too much though. A support slot with Passion Pit, a handful of shows elsewhere and a London showcase at Electrowerkz last year is about the sum of it. That means the four dates they’ve announced for this February and March could well be one of your first chances to see what all the hype is about.

The band - Iain Cook, Martin Doherty and Lauren Mayberry - will play shows in Manchester, Bristol, London and their hometown of Glasgow. The dates in full read:

25 Ruby Lounge, Manchester
26 Thelka, Bristol
27 ICA, London

2 Arches, Glasgow

Tickets for the shows go on sale at 9am next Friday, 11th January.

Part of DIY’s Class of 2013 (read the full interview here), CHVRCHES described their ‘Rocky IV of album recordings.”

“Our primary focus was just to concentrate on making the best record we can make.” Martin told us, “Then, even if it doesn’t happen from there, at least we’ll be happy with it. And we’ve got more than two songs, I promise!” Lauren deadpans; “Actually, it’s going to be those two songs in repeat, until track twelve.’
