The first trailer for Danny Boyle’s Trance has landed at MSN after premiering on the BBC’s Film 2013.
It was said that Boyle would be getting back to his Shallow Grave roots following the inspirational Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours, and it certainly looks that way, with a gritty, visually arresting crime thriller. Shallow Grave, Trainspotting and A Life Less Ordinary writer John Hodge reunites with Boyle once more, adapting the original TV movie scripted by Joe Ahearne.
Trance sees James McAvoy as a fine art auctioneer who gets caught up with a heist led by Vincent Cassel’s thief. When McAvoy develops amnesia after a blow to the head, the gang are vexed that he cannot remember the location of a priceless painting. Cassel hires a hypnotherapist (Rosario Dawson) to unlock McAvoy’s mind, which leads to complications.
Looking both dazzling and disorientating, Trance opens on 27th March.
