Taking Back Sunday Announce Hurricane Sandy Relief SHows

Two special dates have been announced to benefit Hurricane Sandy relief efforts in New York and New Jersey.

Taking Back Sunday have revealed plans to play two benefit shows on the Hurricane Sandy-affected East Coast of the United States.

The first show, on Friday 16th November, sees the band play at the Best Buy Theatre in New York City with support from Bayside and The Menzingers. 100% of the profit from the ticket sales for this show in NYC will be donated to helping Taking Back Sunday’s hometown of Long Beach, NY to recover from Hurricane Sandy.

The second of the benefit shows will see the band combine two previously sold out shows at The Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey into one “mega-show” at the Pine Belt Arena in Toms River, New Jersey. Support again comes from Bayside and The Menzingers, with additional support on this date from Kenny Truhn. A portion of the ticket sales for this show will be donated to the Toms River Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund.

Taking Back Sunday bassist Shaun Cooper said: “We’re devastated to see all of the damage this natural disaster caused in our community and the communities around us, but it is always inspiring to see people come together and push forward. We’re making the best of this difficult situation.”

All tickets for the band’s previous shows at The Starland Ballroom on November 16th and 25th will be valid for the new show in Toms River, NJ. Refunds are available until 10am (Eastern Standard Time) for those unable to make the rescheduled date.
